Access Tree Dismantling Services

When it comes to managing trees on your property, it’s vital to prioritise safety, efficient removal, and routine maintenance to protect both people and nearby structures.

At Access Tree Care, we provide expert tree felling services tailored to both residential and commercial clients, using skilled professionals and the latest equipment to ensure the highest standards.

Whether you’re clearing space for a project, addressing storm damage, or enhancing your garden’s appearance, our reliable team is ready to carry out the work safely.

We also carry out full site assessments before any work begins, helping us identify risks and choose the safest method for removal. This ensures a smooth, controlled process with minimal disruption to your property.

What is Tree Dismantling?

Tree dismantling removes a tree in sections instead of felling it in one go. It’s used when there isn’t room for a safe fell, or when buildings, power lines or other trees need protecting.

Our arborists use modern climbing and rigging to work through the canopy, lowering branches and timber in controlled pieces. This keeps the site safe and limits the risk of damage to your property or neighbouring gardens.

Tree dismantling is ideal for trees that are:

  • Dead, diseased or dangerous: Removing unstable trees before they fail.
  • In confined spaces: Close to homes, garages, fences, roads or outbuildings.
  • Hard to access: Where machinery can’t reach or traditional felling isn’t possible.

How Does Tree Dismantling Work?

At Access Tree Care, our dismantling work follows strict safety standards and uses modern rigging to control every cut. Here’s how we usually approach it:

  • Climbing & assessment: Our arborists climb using ropes and harnesses, assessing the tree and planning the safest way to take it down.
  • Sectional removal: The tree is removed piece by piece, with branches either dropped into clear zones or carefully lowered to avoid damage.
  • Rigging systems: For tight spots, we use specialist rigging to control the descent of heavy limbs and trunk sections.
  • Cranes for large trees: On very large or awkward trees, we can bring in a crane to lift sections out safely and efficiently.

This approach lets us remove problem trees safely, even in tight spaces, while protecting nearby homes, gardens and anything underneath.

Ivy Removal

Safe and efficient ivy removal by professionals, keeping surfaces clear and preventing damage, no matter the coverage or location.

Tree Removal

Complete removal of the tree, including all branches and wood, with full site clearance and responsible disposal of all waste.

Stump Grinding

Once a tree is removed, we carefully grind down the stump to below ground level, ensuring a smooth and safe surface.

Site Clearance

Whether you’re developing a new property or preparing for landscaping, we can clear large sites quickly and efficiently.

Why Choose Tree Dismantling?

There are several situations where tree dismantling is the safest and most effective way to remove a problem tree. It lets us control every cut and protect nearby property, people and utilities while the tree comes down.

Confined Spaces

Trees close to homes, power lines, sheds or fences are dismantled in sections to avoid damage and protect what’s underneath.

Dangerous Trees

Dead, storm-damaged or unstable trees are dismantled in sections, giving more control and a safer removal than base felling.

Difficult Access

On steep banks, over walls or where machines can’t reach, dismantling lets us remove trees safely without large vehicles.

Property Protection

Near roofs, garages, greenhouses or cables, we dismantle trees in pieces so branches come down safely, not onto your property.

With Access Tree Care, you get safe, well-managed tree removal and a site that’s ready to use again straight away.

When Should You Consider Tree Dismantling?

Not sure if dismantling is the right option for your tree? It’s often the safest and most controlled way to remove a problem tree, especially when space is tight, access is limited or obstacles are close by:

  • Tight or confined space: There isn’t enough clear ground for a tree to be safely felled in one piece.
  • Leaning or unstable tree: The tree is structurally unsound, so a full fell from the base would be risky.
  • Nearby obstacles: Buildings, sheds, fences, gardens or power lines would be at risk during standard felling.
  • Poor access for machinery: Steep ground, narrow gateways or obstacles make heavy equipment unsuitable.

If any of these apply, dismantling lets us remove the tree safely while protecting everything around it.

Crane-Assisted Tree Dismantling

For larger or more complex jobs, we may use a mobile crane to lift sections of the tree in a controlled way, moving big pieces clear of buildings and gardens without heavy ground machinery.

  • Large trees in tight spaces: Safely lifts big sections over homes, garages, sheds or gardens where there’s no room to fell.
  • Awkward or difficult terrain: Ideal for trees on banks, over walls or in areas that are hard or unsafe to reach on foot.
  • When speed and efficiency matter: Reduces time on site, limiting disruption to you, your neighbours and passing traffic.
  • When speed and efficiency matter: Cuts time on site, limiting disruption to you, neighbours and passing traffic.

Our team plans every lift, working with qualified operators so crane-assisted dismantling is safe, efficient and fully compliant with site rules.

A big thank you to Access Tree Care who came and pruned my apple trees today. I would highly recommend them for any tree pruning you need. They are very professional and were really helpful explaining what needed to be done. They pruned 2 apple trees and got rid of the ivy which was damaging other trees in my garden. They didnt just hack away at the trees like in the past where people have come and butchered the trees. I will always use them in the future. Thanks

Scott came to quote us for the removal of a dead birch within 2-3 days of us getting in touch and was much lower than other quotes we received. Him and the lads did a great job of quickly removing the tree, stumping it and tidying up some nearby trees for not too much extra at all. They tidied up well after themselves also. Would thoroughly recommend.

Scott and his team took down a diseased Beech tree that we were worried might fall towards the house in high winds today. His team cleared up and left the garden in great order despite having squeezed us in as an emergency. His price was way below what we expected to pay. I can’t speak highly enough of the service we received.

Highly recommend this local company. Did a great job removing a very large tree that had spread out into 3 separate trunks. It’s width covered the width of our garden and over next doors. Massive tree. Great price. Stacked wood neatly so we can chop for our wood burner. Removed/took away all branches leaves etc. Really happy with the final result. Great set of local lads - very professional. Photos show after result. Don’t have a photo of the tree before it got taken down.
